Split Type Air Conditioners

Andrews offers a wide range of split type air conditioners for hire or sale. We offer the latest designs which are safe, reliable and offer high levels of cooling capacity. The majority of the units in this range operate from a standard domestic 3 pin 13amp socket, with only the PAC60 needing a 3-phase power supply. Our split air conditioner range starts with the 4kW PAC14 and extends to the 17 kW PAC60. This range also includes the market leading PAC22, which has become the standard bearer for the portable air conditioning hire industry in Europe.

Split type air conditioners provide cool air into the room in which they are positioned. Heat is dispersed via a flexible connection line to an externally positioned heat exchanger. With refrigerant units such as the PAC14, the flexible line contains refrigerant gas and the line is therefore fixed. However, all our other split units use water to cool the units and this means that the heat exchanger can be positioned as far as 30m from the room being cooled. The system is sealed which means that the water does not require topping up or refilling.

The Andrews range of split type portable air conditioners is ideal for a wide range of applications including server rooms, data centres, communication rooms, shops, offices, events, exhibition stands, TV studios, film sets, sports venues, hospitals and many more. These units are very reliable and safe in operation, providing uninterrupted cooling to a variety of critical environments.

Our PAC14 model is the smallest unit in the range, but still provides almost 4kW of cooling. This unit is quiet in operation as the condenser is housed externally. The PAC14 is often used to provide low cost cooling to applications where the heat exchanger can be positioned close to the room unit via an opening window or similar.

The PAC15 and Zephyr PAC can both provide 4.5kW of cooling, with their water-cooled design enabling a distance of up to 30m between the room unit and heat exchanger.

The Andrews PAC22 unit is renowned throughout the air conditioning hire industry for its high output and unequalled reliability. The PAC22 is specified by many of Europe’s leading HVAC and mechanical services companies and is now in its third generation since its original concept around 40 years ago. The PAC22 has a capacity of 6.5kW and has quick action connection lines that are 5m in length, which can be extended to provide up to 30m of connection between the room unit and heat exchanger. The PAC22 can operate down to 10⁰C which enables it to be used in chilled environments such as beer cellars or food storage areas. The PAC22 provides huge amounts of cooling but only requires a standard 13amp 3-pin socket to power it. We also have a 60 Hz version for use on board ships or for oil rig applications.

At the top of the range we have the PAC60 unit. This model was developed in 2009 and has since become very popular for large cooling requirements found in IT environments including server and communication rooms. The PAC60 has also become well-established for providing cooling for industrial and process applications. Modelled on the ever popular PAC22 unit, the PAC60 can produce a huge 17kW of cooling whilst remaining fully portable. As with other PAC units, the PAC60 uses water to cool the condenser which means that the outside unit can be positioned up to 30m from the room being cooled. This unit requires a 3-phase, 415-volt, 32-amp, 5-pin electrical supply.
