Evaporative Coolers

Evaporative coolers are often used to provide cooling where it is impossible or impractical to use portable air conditioners. These units are often used where the area is too large to use conventional air conditioning or when access to an external source is unavailable. The Andrews range of evaporative air coolers can help to provide cooling to such environments. The units are filled with tap water which is then spread across an internal filter media. As room air is blown across this wet media, the water evaporates causing air to lose its heat and enabling temperature drops of more than 10°C to be achieved. Although the overall room temperature is not reduced, these units are very effective in providing cool air into a localised area. Wherever evaporative units are used, it is important that the area has plenty of natural ventilation. We do not recommend using these units where IT or electrical equipment are used, or where dry products are stored.

The Andrews range of evaporative coolers can be split into three categories:

Small - The Little Cooler is the smallest unit within our range. It has been designed to cool areas of 40m³ and provide maximum airflows of up to 928m³/h. Our small evaporative units are ideal for shops or small working areas.

Medium - The Double Cool is our mid-range evaporative cooler unit. It can be used to cool areas of up to 80m³ and provide maximum air flows of 1,750m³/h. Our medium-sized evaporative units are ideal for larger shops, warehouses, events, factories and gymnasiums.

Large - The Cyclone Dx is the largest unit within our range of evaporative coolers. This model can cool areas of up to 120m³ and provide a maximum airflow of 2,550m³/h. The Cyclone Dx is suitable for big workshops, large halls, events and marquees
