I don’t have much available space in the area I wish to dry, can a dehumidifier be located outside the area it is drying?

What is a desirable relative humidity?

People are most comfortable at an RH of 50%, likewise most products require this RH in order to be protected from moisture damage.

What is the difference between a desiccant and a refrigerant dehumidifier?

A refrigerant dehumidifier uses cold coils to extract moisture from the air by way of condensation and operates in a temperature range of +2°C to +35°C. This type of dehumidifier can reduce the RH down to 40%. A desiccant dehumidifier uses silica gel to adsorb moisture from the air and can be used at any temperature even below 0°C.
