Worldwide locations With the Covid-19 vaccination drive in full flow and the daily average for jabs administered well above 300,000, temporary medical centres are taking measures to ensure seasonal temperatures and conditions remain safe for those receiving their inoculations.
There are four dedicated vaccination hubs within the grounds of a prominent London hospital, with their estates team requesting that we tailor an HVAC solution for the entire application.
Given the unpredictable climate and fluctuating temperatures that have so far been synonymous with April, our client was looking for both heating and cooling. The cold mornings at present necessitate heating equipment, but with this viewed as a long-term project and summer heat inevitable, air conditioning systems have also been earmarked as a top priority.
Our customer indicated a desire to hire kit for at least a 20-week period, with the expectation that it would remain on site until autumn’s arrival.
By proposing the deployment of an HPAC45 high performance air conditioner outside each of the four stations, we were able to effectively kill two birds with one stone. These units provide impressive cooling capacities and, thanks to an integrated heat pump, also deliver large volumes of warm air when there is a need to increase temperatures.
In addition, we also advised the use of some FV300 ventilation fans which play a fundamental role in providing the regular air changes required to reduce the risk of infection transmission and safeguard a critical healthcare environment.
