Many of the sites we work with run everything from a single large diesel tank, heating equipment included. It is a common setup, but if you are using diesel to run your heaters and boilers, you are likely spending more money than needed.

At Andrews Sykes, we can provide a portable fuel tank dedicated to your heating equipment and fill it on site with Industrial Heating Oil (IHO). It is a product many site managers are not aware of, so here is an overview of what it is and why it is worth considering.

What is IHO?

IHO is a fuel designed specifically for heating applications. It has the same calorific value as diesel, providing the same heat output, and shares the same physical properties; this means no equipment modifications are required to make the switch.

It is also fully compatible and mixable with diesel and other commercially available heating oils. There is no need to empty your existing tanks before a delivery, so the transition is seamless and causes no disruption to your operations.

Enhanced Efficiency and Winter Reliability

In addition, IHO contains a multifunctional additive that improves combustion efficiency, reduces deposits in the combustion chamber, and protects the fuel system against corrosion. It is light in colour, low in odour and sediment-free, making it considerably cleaner than most products on the market.

IHO also has a low cold filter plugging point (CFPP), allowing it to perform reliably throughout the year. Unfavourable weather is not a problem as, unlike standard diesel, it continues to operate perfectly in very low temperatures, ensuring consistent performance through the winter months.
