Ventilation Doesn’t Get Any Cooler Than This!

Wednesday, April 28th, 2010

Andrews Sykes has just supplied a ventilation hire solution to enable the production of a spectacular advertising campaign for the new Audi R8 Spyder.

More than 20 vintage cars, some more than 70 years old, snort and growl around the ExCel centre in London while a professional driver weaves the £111,995 Spyder through them like a non-contact version of bumper cars on the gleaming white floor of the centre.

Martyn Day managed the project whilst Shahid Rahman organised the supply of 6  ventilation/extraction fans with all the ducting needed to dilute the air and produce enough airflow to comply with Health and Safety regulations. The whitewashed floor – a vast space measuring 150m by 80m – took eight people two days to paint. It is now covered in a spaghetti of tyre marks and was touched up in post-production! Check out the final result above.

Heater Hire Solution for Elton John

Late last year, visitors saw a dream realised, as the doors of ‘Out the Closet 2009′ in Covent Garden’s Flower Cellars flew open, and shoppers had a once-in-a-lifetime chance to get their hands on an exclusive array of Elton John’s and David Furnish’s flamboyant clothing collection, direct from their wardrobes.

From outfits worn by Elton on stage, to David’s favourite Dior shirts, fans had the opportunity to step into their shoes for real, as well as to hand-pick from their finest collection of clothes and accessories, including sunglasses, luggage and belts. Ranging from £10 to £2,000, the stock featured labels such as Versace, Dior, Prada, McQueen, D&G and Jean Paul Gaultier. (all standard wear here at Andrews Sykes!)

When approached by the Foundation, Liam Harrison, one of our National Call Centre team members was delighted to offer a portable heater hire solution. Two radiant heaters were hired at a heavily reduced rate to keep all the generous shoppers warm and toasty while they shopped for their designer bargains.

The event attracted A-list shoppers from Elle Macpherson and Nathalie Imbruglia to Elizabeth Hurley. 100% of proceeds from sales went to support the work of the Elton John AIDS Foundation. By the time the doors were closed, a total of £420,000 was raised for the Foundation.

David Haye Electric Heater Hire

Congratulations to David Haye for successfully defending his WBA world heavyweight crown with the ninth-round stoppage of a courageous John Ruiz in Manchester on Saturday. It looks like David’s decision to hire electric portable heaters from Andrews Sykes to keep his gym at the optimum temperature for his punishing training regime was the right decision!

Haye floored Ruiz just 25 seconds into the encounter, but the American challenger showed tremendous bravery and powers of recovery to survive Hayes domination. For a short while it even looked as if Ruiz might be capable of working his way back into the fight.

But the badly-marked 38-year-old was down in the fifth and again in the sixth before his corner called a halt three rounds later.  According to some pundits, Haye’s victory over a man who had only been stopped once in 54 previous encounters makes inevitable a unification clash with either WBC champion Vitali Klitschko or his younger brother Wladimir, the IBF and WBO title-holder.

Electric Heater Hire for David Haye

Needing little introduction, David ‘The Hayemaker’ Haye currently stands as the hottest cruiserweight-turned-heavyweight commodity since Evander Holyfield. When David needed to maintain the optimal temperature in his training environment, he turned to the champions of heater hire - Andrews Sykes. We quickly set up an electric portable heater hire solution for his training gym consisting of two DE25 electric heaters and two DE95 electric heaters, sufficient to comfortably heat over 1000 square metres. Haye looks to continue his reign of terror on Saturday, April 3rd as he makes the first defence of his title against number one-ranked contender John Ruiz. The 12-rounder will be screened live on Sky Box Office from 8pm. Andrews Sykes sends their best wishes to David and hopes that he retains his title.
