Andrews Sykes brings the beach into the office in response to study

Three in five office workers are feeling glum about being stuck indoors during the recent heatwave.

A third of office workers said being in the office on a sunny day makes them feel trapped, and one in four feel they are wasting their life in front of their computer when the sun is out.

Seventeen per cent also find themselves getting distracted thinking about their friends and family who are out and about enjoying the sunshine without them.

To combat this, working Brits wish they could take 12 extra ‘Sun Days’ a year to soak up some extra Vitamin D.

If workers decide to take a ‘Sun Day’ off from work, 28 per cent would spend their free hours in the garden, while one in seven would hit the beach to catch some rays.

In response to the findings of workers pining for the sunshine, Andrews Sykes decided to bring the summer indoors for one lucky office, by setting up the Office Beach.

Complete with sand, cocktails and games, the Office Beach brings a taste of the summer to an otherwise-drab office environment.
