Andrews Sykes enjoy Care after Combat Summer Ball

Care after Combat are a UK-based charity providing professional assistance for the well-being of veterans and their families. We at Andrews Sykes are only too happy to do our bit for ex-servicemen and have been sponsoring the charity for more than three years.

We have shown our support in various ways throughout the years, including helping maintain Care after Combat’s first veteran accommodation centre – ‘Simon Weston House’ – which is open to homeless ex-servicemen who have struggled to reintegrate into society. We have also been involved in the charity’s employment scheme and even recruited an ex-veteran to work at one of our London depots.

The charity’s annual Summer Ball, which proved extremely popular in previous years, took place last week at the prestigious Grosvenor House Hotel in Mayfair. Andrews Sykes proudly sponsored the VIP reception room which accommodated guests for a wonderful champagne reception prior to a three-course dinner.

We also sponsored two tables on the night which seated employees from both the sales and marketing department from the London office, with all present enjoying a fantastic evening.

A whole host of high profile guests were present including Commander Stephen Anderson RN, Jim Davidson OBE and charity trustee, Simon Weston CBE – with their speeches followed by exclusive performances from keyboardist and songwriter Rick Wakeman and the brilliant Katherine Jenkins OBE.

The event saw almost £150,000 being raised to support veterans with alcohol and substance misuse problems and raised awareness around some important issues which Care after Combat are working tirelessly towards changing for the better.
