super silent pump for hire

Products of the Month – February

As the day of love and couples approaches, we want to feature TWO products of the month this February.

This Valentine’s Day, indulge your facilities with two of our most reliable units for hire – the Super Wispaset 100 pump and Aurora FH 185 heater. Like any committed relationship, these units work hard behind the scenes to keep your operations running smoothly.

The Super Wispaset provides steady wastewater transport with hushed operation, making it the perfect match for facilities needing unobtrusive yet powerful performance. The Aurora FH185  heater delivers robust heating for spaces up to 4,204m3, enveloping even the largest areas in warmth.

The late shift: Our pumps work while the city sleeps

As a facilities management provider relying on a steady stream of water tankers, our customer required an automated pumping solution to transfer delivered waste from drop-off skips up into the main holding tanks. With trucks arriving day and night to service the community, an set-and-forget solution was needed.

A customer who  manages waste collection and transportation for a network of commercial and residential buildings. Water tankers visit the centralised depot to dispose of hauled waste in on-site skip bins which then feed into the primary storage tanks.

Rain, rain, go away: fast flood control with Sykes Pumps

A long-time client contacted Sykes Pumps recently regarding rising water levels at their lake in South East London. After periods of heavy rain, groundwater had infiltrated the lake and threatened to cause it to overflow. Having worked with this customer before, our team conducted an updated site survey to ensure no changes would impact the potential pump installation.

Within a week of the initial inquiry, we recommended and delivered a UVO 150/100 Super Wispa pump set, along with the necessary flanged piping, fuel tank, and flow meter. The quiet operation of the pump was critical due to the nearby residential area and nature reserve. The unit needed to run continuously, 24/7, to pump the water through the existing 2.5 km pipeline to the River Thames.

Turning waste into value: Helping our customer boost efficiency

We recently began an exciting new partnership with a leading UK water company on a waste management project. When they built five new anaerobic digester tanks to process food waste at one of their facilities, they called on us to help optimise the tank drainage system.

After an on-site survey, our team recommended installing three of our GP150 super silent pumps to rapidly empty the tanks on demand. The pumps’ flooded suction discharge design prevents clogging while providing reliable, quiet operation. With two duty pumps and one standby unit connected to the tanks’ 6” outflow flanges, we implemented a robust pumping solution to keep operations flowing smoothly.

Heavy rain is not a problem for Sykes Pumps

Sykes Pumps recently executed a highly effective dewatering operation in Essex. The operation aimed to manage the rapid influx of groundwater into a lagoon after heavy rainfall. The location’s lagoon posed a significant challenge to the customer due to its tendency to accumulate substantial amounts of nuisance water during intense rainfalls. This rapid accumulation not only disrupted ongoing activities but also threatened the stability of the surrounding area. An immediate and effective water removal was necessary to maintain normal operations and prevent potential environmental issues.

Sykes delivers drain down solution to assist pipework upgrade

Before conducting any repairs or upgrades on a pipework system, it is essential that the sections affected are drained properly ahead of work commencing. In most cases, a specialist pumping solution will be required to oversee this process – which is where we come in.

A well-known utility contractor was recently responsible for upgrading a length of pipeline on behalf of their client, South East Water. As a major account customer of ours, they were extremely familiar with our expansive pump hire fleet and thus knew precisely which unit was required to help them undertake this job.
