This winter, Andrews Heat for Hire are joining forces with the Charlton Athletic Community Trust to support the Royal Borough of Greenwich’s Stay Warm Stay Safe campaign.
As a company with a real presence in the area and many members of staff actually based on the doorstep of our flagship depot in Charlton, this initiative is something that’s very close to our heart and something we feel is important to get behind.
In the immediate term, a large number of portable oil-filled electric radiators have been donated to the Trust with the intention of them being distributed to vulnerable people struggling to overcome the effects of seasonal cold weather.
The Stay Warm Stay Safe scheme comes under the umbrella of the Borough Council’s Live Well Greenwich programme and is aimed at protecting various demographics of society including the elderly, disabled and underprivileged. Andrews Heat for Hire envisages a long-term involvement with the campaign and is currently exploring other ways in which we could potentially help make a difference to people’s lives.
As well as providing items ranging from heating units and thermometers to gloves, scarves and jumpers, organisers are also on hand to provide advice on steps that can be taken to keep warm during winter. This includes:
- Tips on how to keep individuals warm
- Suggestions on how to retain energy within the home
- Examples of things that can be done to keep fuel bills low
