Transport for London to provide air conditioning on Overground services
With temperatures in the capital soaring in recent days, and much of the same already forecasted for the upcoming weeks, commuters could be forgiven for dreading their train journeys to and from work.
Indeed, there has been widespread criticism directed at those in charge for failing to provide suitable cooling – with temperatures regularly nearing the 30°C mark. And it seems they’ve taken notice!
TfL have now announced that as from 2018, a number of London Overground trains will be fully air conditioned during the summer period. It is understood a new fleet of 45 trains is currently being manufactured, placing heavy importance on the comfort of travelling passengers.
