UK poised for heatwave with 30⁰C temperatures set to return

An 11-day heatwave is expected to scorch much of the country after Britons experienced the third hottest day on record on Friday 31 July.

The 37.8⁰C recorded at Heathrow Airport that day was the highest temperature of the year, with experts predicting that we could see similar readings on the mercury over the coming days.

Met Office officials have advised that the first part of the week will be mostly warm with unsettled spells of sunshine and scattered showers, before things really hot up from Thursday onwards.

When a leading facilities management firm based in central London required immediate cooling for a large office building, they contacted Andrews Air Conditioning Hire regarding a solution.

The FM company in charge of the project approached our specialists and requested an emergency cooling arrangement that could successfully supply all nine floors with comfort cooling while their original cooling system was repaired off-site.

Hottest day of the year imminent as July temperatures finally soar

Following weeks of dreary weather – which saw last month statistically confirmed as the eleventh wettest June since records began – the UK is now finally set for some serious heat!

The Met Office has predicted that temperatures over the coming days will not fall below the mid-20s, with Tuesday expected to be the year’s warmest up till now.

Peter Sloss of BBC Weather, told us: “Our weather so far in July has seen temperatures into the low 20s, which is close to normal. This is because our air has been coming from the Atlantic.

Facilities manager seeks cooling for office and server room

With temperatures in London beginning to rise ahead of a hectic bank holiday weekend, it was essential that a large office building and accompanying server room were suitably protected by air conditioning equipment.
