Ingram heads to Poland for round 3 of the FIA European Rally Championship bid

England’s number one rally driver Chris Ingram is looking to make it 3 out of 3 victories as the European Rally Championship continues this week at Rallye Rzeszow in Poland.

Chris’ latest challenge in Poland is made up of over 11 stages covering over 214 competitive Kilometres. This will be the 2nd time Rallye Rzeszow is featuring in the ERC Junior under 27 campaign since debuting in 2016, for many of the emerging talents competing, this will be uncharted territory with narrow winding roads in the Carpathian Mountains featuring steep climbs and tricky descents.

Andrews customers follow Chris Ingram to Ypres Rally

The 53rd Rallye d’Ypres is set to take place this weekend and will see competitors from all around Europe tackle the various stages in Belgium’s north-westerly city.

This year’s event appears to have captured the imagination of rally fans more than ever before, as it will now also count for the British Rally Championship – widely recognised as the continent’s most high-profile national rally competition.

Although not a European Rally Championship round this year, Ypres is an all-new round of the British tour and this will be the first time an Andrews car has been seen in the series since Russell Brookes finished 2nd in the 1991 British Championship.

Ingram off to a flyer after Azores Rallye triumph

Chris Ingram made the perfect start to the ERC Junior U27 Championship at the weekend after a scintillating battle with Finnish team-mate Jari Huttunen.

The Mancunian led by 0.8 seconds ahead of the Azores Airlines Rallye’s final three stages but seemed to lose all momentum when technical difficulties began to set in.

Victory seemed certain to cruelly slip through Chris’ grasp at the eleventh hour after his Opel Adam lost power on the final morning of competition.

This paved the way for Huttunen to establish a seemingly insurmountable six second lead at the final run, before he too suffered some bad luck in the form of a driveshaft failure just 200 metres from the finish.

Andrews Heat for Hire agree sponsorship deal with European champion Chris Ingram

After last year’s fantastic reintroduction to Motorsport – culminating in Andrews-backed driver Chris Ingram being crowned the first British European Rally Champion in 49 years by winning the ERC3 title – it is with great excitement that we announce an extension of our partnership for the 2017 season.

Our original association with Chris began last March, following a chance encounter with Rally legend and former Andrews Sykes backed driver Russell Brookes, who wisely predicted on the day that Chris would become European Champion! Russell and Andrews Heat for Hire were once coupled by one of the sport’s longest ever sponsorships between 1974 and 1991 – before the company’s links with motor racing ended.
