R22 Change Out Programme

Andrews Specialist Hire Division were commissioned to supply three 550kW Fluid Chillers into the City of London whilst the existing units were being replaced due to the R22 change out programme. Andrews unique 550kW chiller was chosen to supply critical services due to its small footprint, which is exclusive to Andrews Sykes. The units were delivered and commissioned on a Sunday, which required a road closure and 200 tonne crane to lift the three Chiller Hire units 10 floors on to the roof. CCS Saves The Day

When a major cable TV and communications company suffered a chiller breakdown in a business-critical IT and communications room, temperatures soared. Fortunately a climate contingency plan was in place and a CCS business continuity team was deployed. Five portable air conditioning units with remote condensers were delivered and installed within two hours, averting costly downtime and ensuring customer satisfaction was maintained. ” We received notification that our existing cooling system was failing, a CCS technician had visited site 3 months prior and we had signed an agreement to cover said emergency, we contacted CCS at 3.00 am in the morning and within 2 hours the temporary cooling equipment was installed and operational. Annual Floods Prevented by Sykes Pumps

Every year in Catterick, North Yorkshire; Sykes Pumps are called in to prevent a disaster situation at a lake nearby. As the water levels rise, a local quarry is at risk of flooding. Sykes Pumps have expertise in averting disaster situations, and when necessary can rise to the challenge in an emergency.

Three Super Wispaset 150 Super Silenced Pumps discharge the excess water through an 18″ fixed manifold into a nearby stream preventing overflow into the quarry. These pumps are delivered with a 2800 litre fuel tank to ensure that the pumps can keep running for long periods of time, keeping control of the water levels.

Bespoke Solutions from Andrews

Andrews Chiller and Boiler Hire division have recently delivered another expert solution to a client with a bespoke need for a boiler, chiller and a multi operational heat exchanger rig. The equipment was required to stress test two manifolds at varying temperatures from 5 degrees centigrade to 70 degrees centigrade over a 400 cycle test period. Andrews Specialist Hire division provided a solution that comprised of an Andrews 30kW Fluid Chiller, an Andrews 22kW Electric Boiler and an electronically controlled heat exchanger rig which allows the equipment to switch between hot and cold water efficiently and within operating parameters.

Sykes Pumps Save the Day!

A tourist attraction in the North East of England called upon Sykes Pumps for their help when their beach located pump that provides fresh seawater to the attraction’s aquarium failed. Without this pump the well-being of the species in their care were put at risk, meaning many of the animals needed to be transported to other similar facilities around the country – a fatal option for some of the residents. An evacuation procedure such as this would not only be costly to arrange and execute, but would also loose hundreds of thousands of pounds in lost revenue at the height of the summer season.
