At Sykes Pumps, we take pride in our ability to overcome challenges and provide innovative solutions for our clients. Recently, in Macclesfield, North Cheshire, we undertook a challenging project for the local council.

They required a new headwall to be installed on a concrete culvert, necessitating the removal of water from site to create a suitable base for the structure. Thanks to our expertise and the strategic planning process of our sales engineers, we devised an efficient and effective solution to tackle this demanding task.

Our Product of the Month for May is the ever-popular PX12 submersible drainer – a pump that is consistently required all year round and largely unaffected by seasonal changes!

In fact, given that they are designed to address excessive water accumulation, we often find the increased risk of flooding often associated with this time of year means our PX12s are highly utilised!

These pumps are designed to tackle general dewatering applications and are seen as the perfect solution for moving nuisance water in a range of environments including construction, utilities, mines and quarries, shipyards, docks, and industrial sites.

We’re not entirely sure how they met, but what we do know is that they are the perfect foil to Romeo & Juliet, or just about any other clichéd Valentine’s duo.

DE190 and Piranha S21

The DE190 is a high-capacity electrical heater with three different power settings – 21kW, 42kW, and fan only. It is ideal for heating large industrial spaces of up to 1,200m³ in size. This fully portable fan heater comes complete with an optional remote thermostat and is an ideal heating source for virtually any setting that requires high-capacity fume-free warm air. These include manufacturing facilities, building sites, and tank drying applications.

Cosmetics manufacturer seeks electric submersible pump replacement

As the UK’s leading specialist supplier of bespoke pump solutions, we are used to devising complex arrangements that have been uniquely tailored to suit the niche requirements of customers. On some occasions, however, a straightforward replacement will more than suffice in instances where essential upgrades or maintenance work is being carried out.

Earlier in the summer, one of our local experts was contacted by the estates team of a cosmetic products factory in Wales. The customer had an electric pump on site which had begun to show signs of age, and as such was not operating as it previously had been. Our client explained that a replacement pump was due to be installed in between 6 and 10 weeks’ time, with a temporary stand-in unit required until then.
