Sykes Pumps’ flourishing relationship with Ebbsfleet United prompts commercial agreement extension

When Sykes Pumps and Ebbsfleet United FC entered into a commercial agreement back in 2013, few could have envisaged the scale of transformation that would touch the Fleet and indeed the local area in which both parties operate.

Almost precisely five years ago, the club embarked on a second successive season in what was then known as the Conference South having narrowly missed out on promotion a few months previously.

At around that time, plans to build a £3.5billion Disney-style theme park on Swanscombe Peninsula moved a step closer after being granted government status in the summer of 2014. The 535-acre site is situated less than two miles from the Kuflink Stadium – where Ebbsfleet play their home games – and will become one of the largest theme entertainment resorts in Europe once completed.

Sykes Pumps renew commercial partnership with Ebbsfleet United FC

We are very pleased to announce an extension of our commercial agreement with Ebbsfleet United, after several years of working closely together.

The Fleet were extremely unfortunate to miss out on promotion to League Two last season, after a fantastic debut campaign in the National League yielded an impressive play-off finish.

We’re very happy to continue a lengthy association with the club and have enjoyed being part of a remarkable success story featuring both parties.

Paul Wood, managing director, said: “We look forward to working and developing our relationship going forward,” he said. “Following the success of the last two years we are looking forward to the new season and are pleased to extend our support for Daryl and the team.”

National League South trophy makes a trip to Sykes’ depot

Last month, Ebbsfleet United secured promotion in the most dramatic fashion when they left it late to overturn a one-goal deficit against Chelmsford City.

The victory meant Daryl McMahon’s side were finally elevated to the National League after suffering play-off heartache at the end of the previous campaign.

Sykes Pumps have enjoyed a close commercial relationship with the club over the past few years and a number of staff members were at Stonebridge Road to witness the action and join in with the celebrations.

Ebbsfleet United edge out Chelmsford City to seal promotion

After suffering play-off heartache at the end of last season, Ebbsfleet United came back even stronger this year to earn promotion in dramatic fashion.

It proved to be third time lucky for Fleet fans, who had seen their side suffer defeat in each of the previous two finals at Stonebridge Road.

With an hour gone, however, the dream looked beyond Daryl McMahon’s men as they trailed 1-0 and had a player sent off.

But two quick-fire goals in the last quarter of the match gave Ebbsfleet something to hold on to, defending desperately for eighteen painstaking minutes before the referee eventually blew the final whistle.

Sykes Pumps extend commercial agreement with Ebbsfleet United

After working closely with Ebbsfleet United for a number of years, it is with great delight that Sykes Pumps announce the continuation of our partnership for the 2016-17 season.

We have watched the club’s development with great interest and hope the upcoming campaign will lead to the promotion they were so unlucky to miss out on in May.

In addition to the undoubted on-pitch progress, we at Sykes Pumps have been excited to see the first stages of redevelopment at Stonebridge Road. A new £5 million main stand is due to be unveiled during the course of the season and marks the first phase of a stadium renovation expected to cost in the region of £8million.
