Andrews Sykes take silver in 7-a-side football tournament

On Sunday 22nd May, a squad of eight Andrews Sykes employees took part in the annual Executive Box holder football tournament held at The Valley. The team had always been eliminated at the knock-out stage in previous years, but there was widespread hope that things would be different in 2016!

A 2-1 victory against Greenwich Inc in the opening group game virtually sealed semi-final qualification after the same team could only draw against Hadlow College. A narrow loss at the hands of Hadlow therefore proved irrelevant but meant Andrews Sykes would face the much-fancied Royal Borough of Greenwich in the penultimate round.

Andrews Sykes sponsor Wolves v Charlton clash

As Andrews’ 50th anniversary celebrations now reach the latter stages, it was perhaps fitting that we were able to sponsor the match between Wolves and Charlton that took place during the last weekend of August.

Once again senior directors and employees descended upon the very city in which the company was originally established, with founder John Andrews also attending as special guest for the afternoon. Even now, Andrews Sykes retain strong links with Wolverhampton and recently moved our headquarters from Darlington Street to state-of-the-art premises nearby in St. David’s Court.

Andrews Air Conditioning support fundraising Rixton gig in London

Andrews Air Conditioning were delighted to sponsor the Charlton Athletic Community Trust’s charity gig for a second successive year– this time headlined by Manchester pop rock group Rixton. The event was staged in Greenwich and attended by a near sell-out crowd, as thousands flocked to the Indigo at the O2 in spite of city-wide Tube strikes.

Popular acts Zuriel and Autumn Sharif preceded the main act before Rixton were introduced by radio presenter Dave Berry.

The lucky winners of our various competitions had the chance to meet the musicians as well as a number of Charlton players who also turned up on the night. All were very happy to mingle with guests and pose for photographs in the VIP lounge – with our paper fans once again getting in on the act!

Wolves versus Charlton Athletic: proudly sponsored by Andrews Sykes

As part of the company’s extended effort to recognise and commemorate our 50th anniversary, senior directors and employees descended upon Wolverhampton on Saturday 24 January – the city in which Andrews was established more than half a century ago.

The business has extremely close links with the area – as well as South East London – so it was perhaps fitting that when Charlton visited Molineux that afternoon, we sponsored the match and took members of staff along for the day.

Special guest and company founder John Andrews was also in attendance, almost thirty years after retiring as CEO.
