So, when an existing boiler system was struggling to maintain a desirable temperature inside a local town hall, our specialists were contacted and asked to provide equipment to improve conditions.

A short-term boiler rental was urgently required in the absence of a fixed system to ensure all staff were kept comfortable and productive during the busy Christmas period.

After a site visit had been carried out, our recommendation was to supply the client with a 100kW gas boiler supplied with a natural gas burner and various lengths of hosing which was placed through the back window of the building’s plant room.

However, our experts were able to recommend the use of five 22kW temporary electric boilers, which could be fitted discreetly out of hours and ensure our client still had the required heating and hot water capacities.

When a college in Kilmarnock required a temporary boiler on site to keep students warm during the construction of a new build, Andrews Boilers was urgently called in to provide a temporary substitute.

After a site visit had been conducted, our recommendation was to supply the client with a 500kW boiler hire unit along with a 2000 litre fuel tank, enabling extensive periods of operation once the equipment had been set up on site.

Ongoing works in the area prevented our unit from being deployed in the designated plant room, but one of our engineers were able to identify an alternative location a short distance away. The restrictions we faced when positioning our boiler presented a challenge that we managed to overcome, resulting in us rerouting the flue.

As with all forms of temporary accommodation, prison cells are subjected to stringent health and safety regulations with direct repercussions if anticipated standards are not maintained. Legislation set out by the Prison Service Instruction sets out the required arrangements for this particular field and this helps ensure living conditions are scrutinised to a certain degree.

These minimum expectations unsurprisingly extend to the provision of hot water and heating which, if absent, can cause the obligatory relocation of however many inmates are housed in a particular facility.
