Andrews Boiler Hire

Andrews provides M&E contractor with replacement boiler hire

When one of the UK’s largest mechanical and electrical contractors required a temporary boiler on behalf of a major client, we were given two weeks’ notice to devise and implement a solution. The end user – a prominent government-owned company responsible for maintaining motorway infrastructure – was replacing a faulty boiler at one of their southern depots and needed stand-in equipment while this process was undertaken.

Upon being contacted, we were advised that the boiler upgrade would be carried out in a fortnight’s time. Despite the fact it was a planned project and not one requiring immediate action, we sent our regional expert to site the following day which enabled us to liaise directly with the two parties involved.

Andrews Boilers enable students to occupy Scottish university campus

When a college in Kilmarnock required a temporary boiler on site to keep students warm during the construction of a new build, Andrews Boilers was urgently called in to provide a temporary substitute.

After a site visit had been conducted, our recommendation was to supply the client with a 500kW boiler hire unit along with a 2000 litre fuel tank, enabling extensive periods of operation once the equipment had been set up on site.

Ongoing works in the area prevented our unit from being deployed in the designated plant room, but one of our engineers were able to identify an alternative location a short distance away. The restrictions we faced when positioning our boiler presented a challenge that we managed to overcome, resulting in us rerouting the flue.

UK facing “four months of snow” according to forecasters

Seasonal storms are set to hit the UK in just six weeks, with widescale “whiteouts” expected until as late as February. This prediction is in stark contrast to recent winters, which have been comparatively mild.

Exacta Weather’s James Madden, explains: “Despite the much warmer than average but unsettled summer and the warm start to autumn, people should not be lulled into a false sense of security.”

Emergency boiler replacement keeps major IT consultant functional

When a boiler breaks down or loses effectiveness, a rapid response to the issue will help keep your building operational. Failure to address the situation quickly can have far-reaching implications for everyday businesses – including revenue loss. In December 2015, one of the UK’s biggest players in the IT sector suffered unexpected boiler failure at their briefing centre in Winchester, and this had the potential to delay a series of planned consultations with clients during the period.

The IT firm in question are wholly dependent on being able to host conferences because it enables them to ascertain the exact requirements of their partners. Without this, our customer is unable to provide the expected level of service and they will miss out on commercial opportunities as a result. The swift intervention of Andrews Boilers was therefore essential.
