Andrews delivers eye-catching performance at this year’s Glastonbury!

The summer and events season typically go hand in hand as far as we’re concerned, hence our close involvement with a number of recent high-profile sporting affairs, music festivals and commemorative celebrations.

Those of you with a keen interest in music will be well aware that Glastonbury 2022 got underway yesterday, and we’ve been working hard to ensure the artists and crew stay cool between performances.

Our input specifically related to the iconic Pyramid Stage, which is widely seen as the most instantly recognisable festival stage in the world.

Don’t lose your cool at work this summer!

This response generator has been created to help workers remain professional – when colleagues and clients drive them to lose their cool.

Rather than ranting on email or blowing your top on a phone call, the tool allows you to choose what you would really like to say to a colleague or customer, before giving you a more professional version.

The tongue-in-cheek generator was created after research of 2,000 office workers which found three in five have ended up losing their cool at work.

The top thing to cause people to lose their temper was unreasonable colleagues, followed by a big workload and making mistakes.

Andrews takes centre stage at London’s Shaftesbury Avenue!

If Shaftesbury Avenue is considered the go-to place for onstage entertainment, then it seems fitting that a well-known theatre in the area saw us as the go-to place for temporary air conditioning! On this occasion, our client’s HVAC system had partially failed which left parts of the building without heating or cooling.

Due to the season, our customer’s primary objective was to restore an air conditioning supply – hence their reason for getting in touch with us.

The theatre’s facility manager explained over the phone that the breakdown meant that dressing rooms were likely to become overbearing, particularly when the actors and actresses were required to switch outfits quickly and frequently.

Air conditioners with HEPA filtration now highly sought-after by healthcare trusts

We’re quickly approaching that time of year when businesses turn their attention to the summer, with air conditioning normally high on a typical list of priorities. Of the many industries we deal with, it’s often healthcare trusts demonstrating the most proactivity – which is why we have received more enquiries from the NHS than any other organisation or body in the last fortnight.

The need for cooling in a hospital is hardly a new phenomenon but we have noticed a greater influx of requests for portable air conditioning units fitted with HEPA filtration. As explained in this blog, our PAC 22 and PAC 60 units can be fitted with an advanced filter that guarantees cleaner and safer airflows while simultaneously reducing indoor temperatures during the peak of summer.

Andrews installs high capacity air conditioning solution inside multi-storey office building

A prominent FM company in the Midlands recently required emergency cooling for one of their largest clients after an internal chiller system failed.

Our customer desperately sought an effective cooling solution for a substantial office building spanning several floors, prompting the intervention of Andrews’ local technician. Unsurprisingly, the facilities manager was keen to address the problem as quickly as possible given the likelihood of temperatures increasing as we head towards summer.

Following a thorough site survey, we proposed a total of eight PAC 22 portable air conditioners which our engineer calculated would deliver the necessary cooling capacities. The kit was positioned externally with lengths of ducting used to distribute and circulate cool air inside open plan office space on four separate floors.

Andrews installs replacement cooling solution for major supermarket chain

There is a proven link between keeping a shop floor air conditioned and the length of time people are prepared to browse, demonstrating the impact that customer comfort has on the overall retail experience. In essence, a stuffy, hot store will cost you business – and there’s really no excuse for such uninviting conditions to linger when instant solutions are readily available.

Acutely aware of this, one of our customers – a world-renowned name in the industry – recently contacted us following the discovery of an issue with the chiller system at a prominent store in Yorkshire. Specifically, a faulty compressor had affected the chiller’s output, while its location within a plant room positioned at high level prevented us replacing the unit with one of our own chillers as the connecting air handling units were also suspected to be defective.

London Ambulance Service reaps the benefit of our out-of-hours service

It’s not often that we receive requests for comfort cooling in March due to temperatures generally being low, but we’re always prepared for that eventuality!

A few days ago, our operations team picked up an out-of-hours enquiry from the London Ambulance Service – and the equipment was required as a matter of urgency.

Despite the client contacting us at 7pm, we were able to coordinate the delivery and installation of eight Double Cool units before midnight that same day.

Although it was never made clear to us precisely what prompted the need for air conditioning, the customer was very clear about which type of unit would best suit their building given that there were no windows or openings to facilitate the extraction of hot air.

Event organisers hire air conditioning for technology exhibition in London

Exhibitions, like most indoor events, require thorough planning to ensure they are remembered for the right reasons and enjoyed by those in attendance. Often, the time of year will dictate whether or not a source of air conditioning is required, but sometimes the type of event will be a greater influencing factor – as was the case in a project we recently worked on.

The organisers of a special ‘tech show’ at the O2 Arena contacted us before the event was set up. As part of proceedings, there was a special demonstration that involved showcasing a range of modern HDR and LED TVs. A number of viewing pods were installed – each with a particular type of television inside – where attendees were able to test and explore their key features.

Air conditioning system averts television blackout in the North East

There are few better examples of a first world problem than when you attempt to switch on your TV, only to be faced with a message that reads ‘no signal.’ Despite the somewhat trivial nature of this issue, it is still extremely frustrating when you are denied the opportunity to watch that television programme you had looked forward to all week! And it’s even more annoying when the disruption has been caused by something completely out of your control.

In order for a TV to function properly, we rely on the continued operation of transmitters. These electronic devices send digital signals through the air which are then received by aerials connected to your television set.

Operating system company hires cooling for corporate event

It’s always good to be ahead of the game if you’re planning an event but sometimes there are occasions where the simplest of things are mistakenly overlooked. Catering? Check. Seating? Check. Climate control? Ah!

Fortunately, we’re very used to last-minute requirements and have an excellent track record when it comes to implementing temporary air conditioning and heating solutions at short notice.

Earlier in September, a renowned software service provider got in touch with us after realising that they had forgotten to make temperature control arrangements for an event they were hosting the following day.
