Sykes Pumps dewater lake at London angling club

Every year, one of the capital’s most revered fishing societies needs assistance removing stock from one of their lakes, in order for it to be transferred to other parts of the country. A high water table at the location in question has however meant the client’s previous attempts to supervise the necessary dewatering process haven’t been as successful as expected.

Past instances have led to water refilling the stock pond almost as quickly as it could be pumped out, which is why Sykes Pumps were contacted to arrange a more suitable solution.

Our response was to deliver a GP150M General Purpose pump to site, as well as lengths of suction hose and a strainer. The equipment was set up the same day and operational overnight to facilitate an early start – as required by the customer.

This hire arrangement proved to be extremely successful and was the best course of action available when taking into account the budgetary restrictions in place. As such, discussions for a similar package next year are at a preliminary stage, with the fishery officer in charge delighted with the level of service received.
