Sykes Pumps aid culvert repair in Lincolnshire

Following heavy rainfall in the north of England, a client contacted us seeking an emergency pump solution to facilitate the repair of a drainage tunnel that kept collapsing. Large volumes of storm water caused by torrential downpours were, therefore, unable to escape, meaning urgent action was required on our part.

The customer had outsourced a renewal development to an external company, but in order for them to be in a position to mend the damaged culvert, pumping equipment was needed on site. A nearby housing estate meant that any hire package would need to feature units capable of operating quietly, which is why we proposed the use of three Super Wispaset 200mm pumps.

Working within tight deadlines, we delivered all requested equipment to our client’s depot just a few hours after receiving the enquiry. This ensured all pumps were accessible well before their planned start date and enabled the project to commence on time.

Despite never previously working alongside this particular customer, Sykes Pumps were able to impress them with our service which saw the affected road reopen well before originally predicted. Our efficiency was then cited as a primary factor in us being asked to provide a quote for the second phase of the scheme – due to begin later this year.
