The National Theatre is celebrating its 50th birthday today. The venue opened on 22nd October 1963 under the eye of founder Sir Lawrence Olivier. To mark this event, the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh will be taking a grand tour of the theatre and its facilities. The royal visitors will unveil a plaque to commemorate the theatres anniversary. The venue has recently undergone a large refurbishment but unfortunately the permanent boilers are not yet up and running. Therefore Andrews Heat for Hire supplied the site with 160 oil filled radiators to keep the whole building warm, from the reception areas to the store rooms and even the main gallery.
The radiators were provided to ensure the space was kept as comfortable as possible for the royal visit. These radiators are very economical and have a built in thermostat for fully automatic operation. The visit seems to have gone well and the units are staying on site for the next few weeks to keep the actors and visitors warm in anticipation of the grand theatre opening!
For more than 40 years, Andrews have been supplying temporary heating for events and currently supply heating solutions for a wide range of indoor and outdoor events. These can range from large temporary structures to permanent exhibitions that require either a long or short term hire solution.
