National League South trophy makes a trip to Sykes’ depot

Last month, Ebbsfleet United secured promotion in the most dramatic fashion when they left it late to overturn a one-goal deficit against Chelmsford City.

The victory meant Daryl McMahon’s side were finally elevated to the National League after suffering play-off heartache at the end of the previous campaign.

Sykes Pumps have enjoyed a close commercial relationship with the club over the past few years and a number of staff members were at Stonebridge Road to witness the action and join in with the celebrations.

Last week, general manager Dave Archer popped in to our London depot armed with the coveted trophy that symbolises the club’s promotion to English football’s fifth tier.

Steve Gray, sales manager at Sykes Pumps, said: “I was absolutely delighted to see Ebbsfleet get the job done which rounded off a fantastic year but both the team and for us.

“It was a nice touch from Dave to bring the trophy in for our engineers and other employees to see first-hand and underlines the special association the company share with Ebbsfleet Football Club.”

Once again, Sykes Pumps would like to offer our congratulations to Daryl McMahon, Peter Varney and all the playing and coaching staff, and hope they enjoy a continuation of this success when the new season kicks off.
