National boat broker hires pump to tackle leak on site

A leading residential & leisure mooring service provider approached us with an emergency request after discovering a leak at one of their docks. Our client was concerned that there could be implications for people staying in some of their waterside retreats on site, prompting them to get in touch with us as a matter of urgency.

From our perspective, the project was simple. A single silenced GP150 general purpose pump would be required to remove sea water from the area, but the speed of service was what really counted.

Understandably, our customer was looking for a solution as soon as possible in order to begin the necessary repair works. After receiving the enquiry in the afternoon, we arranged for our local expert to visit the location within two hours of initial contact.

By 4pm, the customer’s account application had been submitted and a quotation provided, which they returned signed the following morning. The equipment was then delivered and installed before lunchtime that same day, meaning the whole process had been concluded in less than 24 hours!

Our client intimated that another supplier was unable to meet their expectations as far as the turnaround time was concerned, but at Sykes Pumps, a rapid response comes as standard! We’re delighted to report that our contact was very impressed with the swift manner in which their problem was solved, and we look forward to reacting in a similar fashion should further requirements arise.
