London Build exhibition proves successful for Sykes Pumps

Sykes Pumps were delighted to have the opportunity to exhibit at the London Build exhibition at the O2 Arena, Greenwich. Our largest depot is situated just a few hundred yards up the road in Charlton and acts as a centre point from which we serve all customers based in and around the capital.

The trade show enabled us to connect with some of the industry’s big players across the two days, and this introduction has already paved the way for a number of enquiries and potential projects.

We used the event to preview our new general purpose pump – the Minivac Eco – and this is set to be officially launched before the end of the summer. It was the presence of a vintage unit, though, that really captured the imagination of those who visited our stand.

Sykes Pumps ran a competition throughout the exhibition in which attendees were asked to guess the age of one of our antiquated (but fully functional!) models. Although no-one managed to correctly deduce the exact year in which it was manufactured, one guest has won a luxury evening for two in London having got closer than anyone else. Incidentally, our pump was originally assembled in 1928!

Our pumping expertise appeared to be very well received by a good proportion of guests, substantiated by the number of in-depth discussions that occurred between Sykes staff and representatives from other businesses. The whole experience was therefore very positive from our perspective and we are already in the process of looking at similar prospects for 2016.
