Lake Cleaning

When a new customer contacted Sykes Pumps to help with the removal of silt and leaf debris from an estate lake in Berkshire we were only too pleased to use our expertise to assist them.

The customer had their own floating craft with a macerator type pump which pumps the silt ashore and into hessian sacks, these collect the silt and allow the water to run off.

In this instance the craft pump was not capable of pumping the required distance involved (over 100mtrs) so a Sykes GP150M Hatz diesel driven pump was used to pump the water and silt the extra distance required for the operation to be completed.

This type of pump is driven by a silenced canopied engine, which makes it ideal for use in public places as it has a low noise rating and is mounted on a 4 wheel site chassis, so that it can be easily positioned close to the waters edge.

The whole project lasted just over 2 weeks and Sykes pumps provided all the additional pipe-work and usual accessories, along with the fuel, to complete the project ahead of time.
