GB Rowing Team kept cool by Andrews during World Championship preparation

As experts in the provision of temporary climate control solutions, Andrews Air Conditioning has provided the GB Rowing Team with cooling relief for a number of years.

The World Rowing Championships took place in Bulgaria in 2018, with both the women’s and men’s squads desperate to excel at what is seen as the most prestigious event on the rowing calendar.

And while the weather in the UK was comparatively cool as we approached the end of August, temperatures in Le Temple-sur-Lot – where the women’s team were training – reached 35°C most days.

It was therefore essential that some air conditioning units were supplied so that they could be deployed in training areas, but also in the hotel rooms where the athletes were sleeping each night.

Paul Thompson, Chief Coach for the women’s squad, said: “Thanks to Andrews, our rowers have been able to train and recover in an ideal training environment out here in France.

“Recovery between training sessions and overnight is one of the most important things for elite sportspeople. What Andrews Air Conditioning provides to us is a huge advantage as we prepare for this year’s World Championships.”

We were delighted to see the positive impact our equipment had on one of the country’s most revered sports teams and watched on with much pride as the team collected four medals.
