Forecasters predict chaotic weather across the UK – but don’t worry, we’ve got you covered!
As is so often the case, the British weather appears to have taken a disappointing turn for the worse after a blisteringly hot spell in July.
The August washout looks set to continue in some parts of the country, while temperatures of below freezing have been recorded in the Scottish Highlands – barely two weeks after parts of the UK experienced staggering 33°C heat.
And the country’s turbulent climate shows no immediate sign of letting up just yet. The Met Office has issued a flood warning to the people of Somerset, with 40mph gales also expected to reach much of the South-West.
Fortunately, though, there is some good news!
Forecasters have suggested that once the effects of low pressure pushing in from the Atlantic subside, we can expect to see some improvements.
Emma Sharples, of the Met Office, explained: “After having a bit of a cooler spell, the next couple of days we get tropical air spreading in.
“It looks as though over the course of the weekend it could be mid to high 20s. We’ll be looking at temperatures probably up to 26, 27… 28°C not out of the question.”
The next 48 hours will perhaps encapsulate just why the British weather has a reputation for being unpredictable; but if there’s one thing you can rely on, it’s that we at Andrews can help you out!
