English and Dutch depots play annual fixture at The Valley

The second weekend in May saw Andrews Sykes’ Charlton depot lock horns with our Dutch colleagues in a friendly football match at The Valley. Following last year’s successful encounter against the Netherlands branches of the company, a second clash was set up with our English side looking to avenge a narrow 3-2 defeat.

Flying in from Rotterdam on the morning of the game, the Dutch side (including one Belgian!) held their hosts to a 2-2 draw before eventually triumphing on penalties. The contest was played in good spirit, with all members of both squads enjoying dinner and drinks together post-match.

Special guest Jim Davidson kindly put in an appearance, presenting the man of the match awards and, unfortunately, a runners-up trophy to the captain of the Charlton branch! We’d like to thank Jim for taking the time to join in with the celebrations and being part of what was once again a great day for all involved.
