Chris seals second spot on rallying return

Following an extensive lay-off that kept Chris Ingram out of action since early May, Britain’s number one rally driver was finally able to banish the bad memories from Rally Islas Canarias by putting in an excellent performance at the Rally di Roma last weekend.

The Heat for Hire-sponsored man came second in the ERC Junior U28 category – and sixth overall – marking his return to the track in style and securing a podium finish in the process.

Now fully recovered from the illness that prevented him from completing the course in Gran Canaria two and a half months ago, Chris spoke of his delight at getting back out there and doing what he does best.

He said: “It was incredible. July’s been a great month for me but a long time coming. I really enjoyed appearing at the Goodwood Festival of Speed but to be out and competing on the circuit again is brilliant!”

Chris is in a very strong position at the Championship’s midpoint despite effectively only competing in two of the three scoring rallies so far.

Next up is the Barum Czech Rally Zlin towards the end of August, before the final two tests in Poland and Latvia respectively.

We’re extremely happy to see Chris back where he belongs after the difficult time he endured and wish him the very best of luck for the remainder of the season!
