Andrews Air Conditioning

Tailored air conditioning solution during the peak of summer? No problem!

The healthcare industry has always been a key market sector for us, due in no small part to the fact that our excellent service lends itself to the needs of critical applications that demand swift action. That’s something we can and do provide regularly, which is why we have established a reputation for speed and reliability.

Not every project we work on involves dozens of units and multiple delivery drivers, however, naturally, we take every requirement seriously.

In the aftermath of the recent record-breaking spell, we received a cooling enquiry from a suburban health centre. Our client was conscious that although temperatures were not as high as they previously had been, the potential for another heatwave meant that pre-emptive action should be taken.Following a discussion with the site’s facilities manager, it was decided that a combination of Polar Wind, Polar Breeze and Double Cool units would be necessary to cool all parts of the building. The Double Cools were deployed in a clinical room which had no windows or openings, while the two air conditioning models were stationed inside the waiting area and reception.

Air conditioning trinity cools uni building during student clearing process

You might expect the summer to be a quieter period for universities up and down the country, but that’s not entirely true. In fact, one of our major account customers – a facilities management service provider – has just placed a significant air conditioning order with us to ensure a campus building stays cool during the student Clearing season.

The building in question comprises a large registration room, a separate breakout area, and four classrooms. Each application presented its own challenges in terms of ascertaining the best solution, which is why we sent one of our experts to conduct an assessment on site.

Animal welfare centre seeks cooling on behalf of their four-legged tennants!

As a nation of animal lovers, Brits are well-known for treating their pets the same as any other member of the family – and there’s nothing wrong with that! When you break it down, it’s probably fair to say that humans and our furry companions aren’t too dissimilar. We both tend to enjoy meal times, we both generally enjoy sleeping, and we both like staying cool when it’s hot!

Most breeds of dog and cat, for instance, are averse to excessive warmth, which is the very reason we were recently contacted by a London-based animal shelter after temperatures skyrocketed in June.

Don’t lose your cool at work this summer!

This response generator has been created to help workers remain professional – when colleagues and clients drive them to lose their cool.

Rather than ranting on email or blowing your top on a phone call, the tool allows you to choose what you would really like to say to a colleague or customer, before giving you a more professional version.

The tongue-in-cheek generator was created after research of 2,000 office workers which found three in five have ended up losing their cool at work.

The top thing to cause people to lose their temper was unreasonable colleagues, followed by a big workload and making mistakes.

Andrews takes centre stage at London’s Shaftesbury Avenue!

If Shaftesbury Avenue is considered the go-to place for onstage entertainment, then it seems fitting that a well-known theatre in the area saw us as the go-to place for temporary air conditioning! On this occasion, our client’s HVAC system had partially failed which left parts of the building without heating or cooling.

Due to the season, our customer’s primary objective was to restore an air conditioning supply – hence their reason for getting in touch with us.

The theatre’s facility manager explained over the phone that the breakdown meant that dressing rooms were likely to become overbearing, particularly when the actors and actresses were required to switch outfits quickly and frequently.

Playing our part in helping the hospitality industry bounce back

We have already received a high number of urgent air conditioning enquiries from customers in the hospitality sector, and temperatures are yet to exceed the early 20s so far this summer! Only last week, we agreed separate 100-unit orders with two of the UK’s largest hotel chains – and the early signs are that there might be more to come.

In both cases alluded to above, our clients’ chillers had failed unexpectedly and left guestrooms and other areas completely exposed to warm seasonal conditions.

Server room outage avoided thanks to out-of-hours air conditioning rental

After receiving an emergency call from an industrial solutions provider late one workday evening, our team went above and beyond to ensure the requirement was satisfied before the clock struck midnight.

Our customer is responsible for delivering maintenance, facilities management and engineering services to businesses from multiple sectors, with urgent action promptly needed after one of their client’s data centres unexpectedly lost all cooling output.

As is the case with many critical applications, there is simply no time for an engineer to visit site and propose a solution when the risk of server failure is amplified with every second that passes. Fortunately, our technical experts are extremely proficient in specifying the correct equipment over the phone – an essential skill in moments like the one described above.

Air conditioners with HEPA filtration now highly sought-after by healthcare trusts

We’re quickly approaching that time of year when businesses turn their attention to the summer, with air conditioning normally high on a typical list of priorities. Of the many industries we deal with, it’s often healthcare trusts demonstrating the most proactivity – which is why we have received more enquiries from the NHS than any other organisation or body in the last fortnight.

The need for cooling in a hospital is hardly a new phenomenon but we have noticed a greater influx of requests for portable air conditioning units fitted with HEPA filtration. As explained in this blog, our PAC 22 and PAC 60 units can be fitted with an advanced filter that guarantees cleaner and safer airflows while simultaneously reducing indoor temperatures during the peak of summer.
