The multimillion-pound facility is expected to open this year, with structural frames installed and external brickwork already complete. Seasonal storage requirements prompt increase in marquee heater hires

At this time of year, falling seasonal temperatures coincide with the hectic Christmas build-up to leave many businesses seeking additional storage space for their goods and products. Last year alone, almost £80 billion was spent by UK consumers during the festive period – an increase of 1.4% from 2017.

And with retail expenditure showing no sign of decreasing this Christmas, the reasons behind the need for more storage areas are abundantly clear.

As such, we’ve noticed a sizeable increase in the number of enquiries relating to heater hire for temporary storage applications, with a well-known entertainment technology company recently getting in touch with us in search of a solution.

Scorching French temperatures set to arrive on British shores

The European heatwave overwhelming much of the continent has shown no sign of letting up, with France hitting its highest recorded temperature of 45.1⁰C in the southern town of Carpentras.

This scorching thermometer reading surpassed the previous highest of 44.1⁰C in 2003 and could yet be broken again, with high atmospheric pressure expected to continue drawing hot air from northern Africa.

With conditions as they are, it will come as no surprise to hear that our engineers have been working around the clock to help people beat the European heat!

Emergency cooling for kitchen showroom

Andrews Air Conditioning was recently contacted by a south eastern kitchen showroom requiring a cooling solution to battle high seasonal temperatures.

The greenhouse effect can in some cases cause extreme heat levels inside an enclosed space, which was the situation our client found themselves in. The showroom became uncomfortably stuffy for potential customers and staff members during the peak of summer, prompting the management team to contact our specialist to find a quick solution for the on-going issue.

Temperatures at the World Cup: Could they really have an influence on the outcome?

With things beginning to hot up at this year’s World Cup in Russia, we considered the impact temperature could have on the remaining countries vying for glory.

History shows us that a strong correlation exists between the continent from which the eventual winner comes from, and the continent where the tournament is being held. Traditionally, climatic factors have been widely cited as a significant contributory factor in shaping the outcome – if not a primary reason – and there is certainly evidence to support this notion.
