Worldwide locations Before a new biofuel power plant could be commissioned in Yorkshire, Andrews Boiler Hire was called in to conduct a pressure test. After consulting the manufacturer, we designed a system which would effectively override the problem the Plant’s size posed. The pressure test required water temperatures to be 30°C throughout the entire 120,000 litre pipework, in order to closely replicate normal working conditions.
The solution we came up with was to use a 500kw Boiler to heat the water, and circulate it in a continuous loop through the plant’s steel pipes. In order to maintain the desired temperature, the water had to pass through an extra plate heat exchanger to ensure the test was successful.
The client was very satisfied with the outcome of the project and the way in which Andrews Sykes efficiently operated the system.
