We’re proud to announce that Andrews Sykes Group is taking significant steps towards a more sustainable future by committing to achieve net zero carbon.
As part of our “Planet, People, Policy” (ESG) strategy, we have set ambitious environmental and sustainable goals aligned with United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 2030 (UNSDG’s2030) which include:
Goal 3 – Good Health and Wellbeing
Good Health and well-being is a crucial focus as we transition to a low-carbon future. By reducing our carbon footprint and embracing sustainable practices, we aim to minimise harmful emissions that contribute to air pollution and environmental degradation. This aligns with Target 3.9 of reducing illnesses caused by hazardous pollutants. Furthermore, our commitment extends to the well-being of our employees and the communities we serve. We are dedicated to fostering a safe and healthy work environment, investing in the development and training of our workforce, and supporting initiatives that promote public health, in line with Target 3C. Our journey towards net zero carbon is intrinsically linked to our responsibility to safeguard the health and well-being of both people and the planet.
Goal 9 – Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure
Upgrading our infrastructure and embracing innovation are pivotal to achieving a sustainable future. We are committed to retrofitting our industries and operations to increase resource-use efficiency in accordance with Target 9.4. This involves adopting clean and environmentally sound technologies, as well as implementing cutting-edge industrial processes that minimise our environmental impact. As we progress on our net zero carbon journey, we will leverage our resources and capabilities to drive this transition across all facets of our business. Investing in green infrastructure and promoting eco-friendly innovation will enable us to build a more resilient and sustainable enterprise, while contributing to the global effort of mitigating climate change.
Goal 10 – Reduced Inequalities
Promoting inclusivity and reducing inequalities are fundamental to our sustainability efforts. In alignment with Targets 10.2 and 10.3, we are committed to empowering and fostering the social, economic, and political inclusion of all individuals, regardless of age, gender, disability, race, ethnicity, origin, religion, or socioeconomic status. We strive to ensure equal opportunities and eliminate discriminatory practices within our organisation and sphere of influence. Our net zero carbon journey goes hand-in-hand with our dedication to creating a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment that celebrates and leverages the unique perspectives and talents of our entire workforce. Furthermore, in line with Target 10.4, we will adopt policies that promote fiscal, wage, and social protection measures to progressively achieve greater equality. Our sustainability initiatives are rooted in the belief that addressing inequalities is crucial for building a just and prosperous society for all.
Goal 12 – Responsible Consumption and Production
Responsible consumption and production practices are integral to our sustainability strategy. In line with Target 12.1, we are implementing a comprehensive framework to drive sustainable consumption and production across our operations, taking the lead as a developed country while considering the capabilities of developing nations. We are committed to achieving the sustainable management and efficient use of natural resources by 2030, as outlined in Target 12.2. Furthermore, our waste reduction initiatives, encompassing prevention, reduction, recycling, and reuse, aim to substantially decrease waste generation in accordance with Target 12.5. Underpinning these efforts is our dedication to raising awareness and providing relevant information to empower people to adopt sustainable lifestyles harmonious with nature, as per Target 12.8. By embedding responsible consumption and production principles throughout our value chain, we aim to minimise our environmental footprint, conserve precious resources, and inspire positive change towards a circular economy.
Goal 13 – Climate Action
Climate action is at the core of our sustainability endeavours. We recognise the urgency of addressing climate change and are taking decisive steps to integrate climate measures into our national policies, strategies, and planning, as per Target 13.2. This involves implementing robust plans to reduce our carbon footprint, promote energy efficiency, and adopt renewable energy sources across our operations. Moreover, we are dedicated to improving education, awareness-raising, and capacity-building on climate change mitigation, adaptation, impact reduction, and early warning systems, in line with Target 13.3. By fostering a culture of climate consciousness and equipping our workforce and stakeholders with the necessary knowledge and skills, we aim to drive impactful change. Our climate action initiatives go beyond our organisational boundaries, as we collaborate with industry partners, policymakers, and local communities to accelerate the global transition towards a low-carbon future.
