Andrews Sykes emergency service helps avoid Christmas day flood

Whilst most of us were at home preparing for Christmas festivities, the staff at Andrews Sykes, Charlton depot, in South East London, were kept busy early on Christmas Day helping to prevent a flood.

A major utility provider called our local sales engineer on his mobile phone in hope that someone could help them avoid a flooding situation, which was likely to occur due to the incredible rainfall that hit the area. Residents were being warned to expect the worse, sand bags were being deployed and a major works was put at risk.

To the relief of the client our sales engineer immediately contacted the operations manager at the Charlton depot, who in turn deployed our emergency back-up service. Soon after, pumps were being loaded onto our delivery vehicles and were on their way to the site, along with the necessary hoses and accessories. The pumps were instantly put to work and relieved the threat of flooding within minutes of arriving on site.

Our client was extremely pleased with the 24 hour emergency service that Andrews Sykes offers throughout the UK and even took the time to email us soon after to thank the team for their assistance.

Well done to the team at our Charlton branch for reacting so quickly, even on Christmas Day. Thanks to them, the flood was avoided, residents were able to enjoy their festivities and our client delighted.
