Andrews Heat for Hire aid Newcastle rail station
A major railway station in Newcastle required emergency drying earlier this month after a new floor was fitted on the concourse. The station – which served almost eight million people last year – faced a heavy penalty if the work was not completed before an agreed deadline.
The client contacted Andrews Heat for Hire late in the evening, seeking an immediate response in order to avoid the fine and possible downtime. Our engineers visited the site almost instantly, with equipment delivered and fully installed within four hours.
Following an evaluation of the location, we provided two ID60 units and a generator to ensure there was a continual power supply. It was decided oil fired heaters would be most suitable for the environment, as ventilation within the station itself was limited. The ID60 models deliver large volumes of safe, fume-free warm air and operate on low cost fuel – saving the customer money.
Our solution worked perfectly and ensured there were no financial repercussions imposed by Network Rail.
