Further difficulty arose as the flooded lower decks had limited access available. However a solution was found in the form of a KT2000 desiccant dehumidifier, a particularly useful piece of equipment when work needs to be carried out in awkward locations or at temperatures as low as -5°C.
The dehumidifier was placed on the top deck. Then one length of ducting was placed at the rear of the corridor to extract damp air while another length was placed at the front end of the corridor to recirculate the dry air through, extracting the moisture from the ship.
Although the dockyard was 240 miles away, we delivered to the site the same day much to our customers relief! Our equipment successfully stopped any further problems.
