Celebrating dual promotions in our HVAC Internal Sales Team!

Today, it is with great pleasure we can announce the promotions of Laura Capp and Elissa Appleby-Mason, who have assumed the roles of HVAC Internal Sales Supervisor and HVAC Internal Sales Team Leader respectively.

Laura joined us as an Internal Sales Advisor a little under two years ago, and quickly made an impression among her peers and superiors. Laura has a strong sales background and has been integral to the success we have enjoyed since her arrival.

Speaking shortly after the announcement, Laura said: “I am very grateful to be recognised by the company and have the privilege to work with such a great team. I’m confident we can achieve even more as a group and am excited to contribute towards that.”

In light of it being National Engineers Week, it feels appropriate to highlight one of our engineers and delve into precisely what the job itself entails. That means I’m back with another Day in the Life segment, and this month I shadowed one of our talented Senior Service Engineers – Jason Watson.

As I’m generally office-based, I was excited to observe how the backbone of our business operates, and learn more about how the practical side of things work. As soon as I saw Jason arriving at the Charlton depot car park, I set about capturing potential social media content and documenting our day by taking notes on how a typical morning might unfold.

One of Britain’s leading universities recently experienced a gas supply problem within their library, and this was a prime example of our broad coverage proving essential. The enquiry was swiftly handled by a local territory sales manager, who was able to recommend equipment suitable for the site in South Wales. We understand that with mid-term exams on their way, it was important that common areas in the library were of an appropriate temperature in order to maximise the productivity of students.

It’s the season of love, but we know that not everyone is a fan of Valentine’s Day. In some instances, self-care and personal growth must take priority. We’ve taken this somewhat literally in Belgium, with our progress in the region recently extending to opening a third depot in the country.

Our new property in Kortrijk gives us a wonderful platform from which to serve customers in the west of Belgium – as well as northern France – and we’re very confident that we’ll be able to make defining connections with a number of customers based in this expansive region. We were delighted to attend the Career Transition Partnership Employment Fair at the Telford International Centre on Tuesday.

The purpose of the event is to help ex-servicepeople and veterans find work after leaving the Armed Forces.

Stephanie McGinn, UK HR Manager, reflected: “It was great to be there, great to be involved, and nice for us to get our name out there and connect with people who might not necessarily have been aware of what Andrews Sykes do.”

As a result of the fair, we have received a number of completed expression of interest forms relating to a wide variety of roles within our business.

We’re not entirely sure how they met, but what we do know is that they are the perfect foil to Romeo & Juliet, or just about any other clichéd Valentine’s duo.

They say opposites attract, so let us introduce you to the new IT couple:

DE190 and Piranha S21

The DE190 is a high-capacity electrical heater with three different power settings – 21kW, 42kW, and fan only. It is ideal for heating large industrial spaces of up to 1,200m³ in size. This fully portable fan heater comes complete with an optional remote thermostat and is an ideal heating source for virtually any setting that requires high-capacity fume-free warm air. These include manufacturing facilities, building sites, and tank drying applications.
