When a leading food distribution company suffered a leak in their storage building, a significant quantity of frozen goods, beverages and other products were immediately at risk. The client – who was responsible for supplying to partners in the catering industry as well as retail outlets – called Andrews Dehumidification Hire seeking an urgent drying solution.

The leak was caused by warm air in the building’s ceiling void condensing moisture on the pipes that feed the glycol chilled system. As a result, a tailored solution was recommended which included two DH150 and four FD40 dehumidifiers designed for drying buildings.

Andrews Ventilation Hire has helped one of the UK’s largest pumpkin growers save millions of the popular squash plants during a challenging harvest season.

The client in question stores pumpkins on site prior to sale and distribution to major UK supermarkets. They had become extremely concerned about the possibility of their produce deteriorating and becoming unfit for sale due to excessively warm storage conditions, meaning a ventilation hire package was needed immediately.

One of Andrews’ regional specialists visited the site and calculated the quantity of pumpkins we were dealing with to ensure an adequate ventilation solution was proposed. As a result, our experts deployed and installed twenty-two ASF950 ventilation fans to help combat warm temperatures and drive humid air away from the application.

British Rowing team prepared for World Championships following successful training camp

Despite Hurricane Irma causing devastation across Florida and beyond, the 2017 World Rowing Championships have been given the green light to take place as planned this weekend at the Nathan Benderson Park, Sarasota.

A total of 73 British athletes – comprising of 19 crews – have been named in Great Britain’s rowing squad, including 14 Olympians and 2 Paralympic Champions.

The World Championships come at the end of a very good season for GB, who won the World Rowing Cup series by an impressive 26-point margin over rivals New Zealand.

Podium finish for Ingram in Italy sets up rousing finale in Latvia

British rally driver Chris Ingram is closing in on a second successive ERC3 championship title after another impressive performance at the weekend.

The 23-year-old came third at the Rally di Roma Capitale and returned to the top of the championship standings with just one race remaining!

Previous leader Aleks Zawada arrived in Italy with a narrow advantage over the field, but flywheel failure on just the second stage forced the Pole into an early exit.

At the midway point, Chris had established a narrow lead while working with new co-driver Ross Whittock for the first time. The pair battled on throughout the second day and secured a podium spot in impressive fashion despite the obvious challenges they faced.

Andrews provide emergency cooling solution for plant room

When a major property maintenance company had been contracted to provide cooling for a plant room in London, Andrews Air Conditioning Hire were required to ensure an immediate solution was provided.

The plant room in question was experiencing high temperatures of 37°C during the summer months, meaning urgent action was necessary. In order to protect equipment, the client required an effective cooling solution to reduce temperatures to a maximum of 25°C.

Following an extensive site survey, three PAC 22 air conditioners were delivered and installed on site and placed in the plant room, providing cool air to the critically hot areas and dramatically reducing temperatures.

For the past few years, Andrews Air Conditioning have offered paper fans to help hot commuters stay cool and calm throughout the summer months. Following the popularity and success of previous promotions, we added a competitive aspect which gave entrants the chance to win a summer getaway via our well-known #CoolAndCalm Twitter objective.

The competition was propelled at the Excel Facilities show in June, where large numbers of guests visited our stand to get their hands on a paper fan. Following that, thousands more were distributed by staff at train stations around London – including London bridge, Charing Cross and Liverpool street.

The fifth round of this season’s ERC Junior competition takes place in Italy this weekend, with current champion Chris Ingram looking to make up ground on leader Aleks Zawada.

Just three points separate the pair going into the penultimate race – the Rally di Roma Capitale – with the battle for title glory finely poised. This is the first time the rally has appeared on the ERC schedule, meaning all drivers are entering unchartered territory at a crucial stage of competition!

Despite a degree of unfamiliarity surrounding the 198.88-kilometre all-asphalt track, Chris was extremely upbeat about his chances prior to setting off for Italy.
