Andrews Ventilation Hire assist with ‘mega shed’ construction project

One of the country’s most prestigious universities was in the process of building a new ‘mega shed’ which was due to be used as a large library facility. Once completed, the university say the site will hold the equivalent of 18 Olympic swimming pools’ worth of books – underlining the application’s size!

As part of the construction process, various industrial equipment was utilised for concrete slab pouring which could have left an enclosed space polluted with carbon monoxide. This would have had serious health implications for those working on site if the issue was not addressed quickly, but our engineers were on hand quickly to ensure this problem was averted.

Andrews Air Conditioning Hire guarantees the continued safety of garden centre pets

Pet retailers across the country are obligated to ensure all animals are kept safe and healthy, so when a garden centre in Nottingham encountered difficulties keeping their rabbits and guinea pigs cool, they contacted Andrews Air Conditioning Hire in search of an effective cooling solution.

As an existing client, they knew Andrews would be able to offer same-day, out of hours delivery which was extremely important given how quickly high temperatures can affect small animals.

Our specialists recommended the deployment of an ET21 air conditioner after calculating that approximately 6kW of cooling would be sufficient in guaranteeing the continued wellbeing of the animals. Cold air was then driven into the wood cladding building via lengths of ducting we provided – directly spot cooling the display cabinets which housed the rabbits and guinea pigs.

Simon Weston visits Andrews at the Facilities Show!

The third and final day of the 2017 Facilities Show saw British Army veteran Simon Weston CBE wow guests with a fantastic motivational speech, reflecting upon the horrific traumas he suffered during and following the Falklands War. Simon’s life is very much an example of adversity being transformed into opportunity and he is widely regarded as a beacon for overcoming hardship and maintaining a positive mental attitude.

Andrews Sykes are proud supporters of the Care after Combat charity – which Simon is a patron of – so it was nice to see him visit our stand at the exhibition and spend some time talking to members of staff. It’s fair to say that employees who were lucky enough to meet him were truly inspired by his story.
