Care home washrooms made safe with the help of Andrews heater hire

Having worked with care homes for many years – providing short-term heating for bedrooms and communal areas – we have developed long-standing relationships with clients in this field. So when a care home in Scotland contacted us in search of a heater hire solution, we reacted quickly to satisfy their requirements.

Our client required temporary heating to counteract low indoor temperatures, when trying to lay slip resistant vinyl flooring in their wet-rooms.

It was decided that two FH111 indirect oil fired heaters would be stationed outside the building, with hot air ducted in through external doors. The hire package was required to be in constant use, keeping room temperatures at 15°C 24 hours a day, in order to seal the flooring.

Andrews Heat for Hire assist with major construction project

When a well-known construction company required heating for a building project, the contractor overseeing the construction scheme contacted us in search of an immediate heating hire solution.

The client was overseeing a major housing build in Leith, Edinburgh, creating a combination of new houses and flats on an old postal sorting site. However, heavy rainfall and low temperatures meant that the progression of the four storey flats and houses were at risk of being delayed.

After conducting a thorough assessment of the area, one of our heating specialists put together a suitable hire package based on the application’s requirements. Multiple ID65 Dual Voltage oil heaters were delivered to the site and used to dry the dampness from the ground floor to the second level.

Andrews Boilers keep healthcare residential unit functional during refurbishment project

The largest healthcare service in England had plans of undergoing an extensive extension and refurbishment project. However, before this could take place, a temporary boiler was required to provide the residential unit with constant heating while the boiler house underwent a re-fit.

Following an urgent call out, an Andrews engineer visited the location and recommended a 250kW boiler hire unit complete with temporary pipe work.

Logistical problems and a lack of space on the active site made it infeasible to station the temporary boiler near the existing boiler house. Our solution was to position the boiler a short distance away, providing the client with additional hose runs to connect to the existing flow and return stabbings.

Sykes provide pumping solution for river bank repair

A leading construction company located in Gatwick recently contacted Sykes Pumps in search of a high flow over-pumping package to assist with a building project. The client required a high performance pump hire package that would divert water supplies, making it possible for them to restructure crumbling river bed walls.

Fortunately, Sykes Pumps are well equipped to provide suitable equipment for such schemes – having worked alongside this particular customer on a number of occasions.

Our response was to deploy four of our 12” Super Silent pumps accompanied by additional 3 and 4 inch pumps to cope with the changes to the flow rate. This product was deliberately selected due to its low noise impact on the local environment.

Luxury apartments kept warm by Andrews Heat for Hire

The delicate nature of any floor fitting process means that temperatures must be closely controlled to ensure proper drying of the flooring. So before a housing construction company could begin installing a floor arrangement, Andrews Heat for Hire was approached for a temporary heating package.

A site survey allowed an Andrews technician to recommend a suitable solution to the client, that would prevent newly-laid floor panels from warping under the strain of fluctuating temperatures.

Four DE190 electric heaters were agreed upon and stationed on each floor undergoing work, ensuring a constant supply of heat was being distributed throughout the site. Our heater rental solution was required to operate overnight due to an issue with a lack of power onsite, and this served to guarantee that indoor temperatures never fell below a desirable level.
