Temporary server room keeps museum open during refurbishment scheme

At Andrews Air Conditioning, we regularly provide cooling solutions to clients looking to protect their data centres and telecoms facilities. We are therefore exceptionally well-placed to recommend equipment designed to maintain the optimum temperature and thus prevent such applications succumbing to downtime.

This expertise was recently demonstrated when a prominent London museum approached us seeking a temporary air conditioning system for a server room conversion. An extensive renovation project included the removal of asbestos from the ceiling of the original server room, meaning the equipment contained within would have to be relocated.

And due to the unpredictable climate which has frequently resulted in disastrous flooding, the vast majority of people have built their houses out of tin, rather than mud.

While this measure ensures that residential structures are more able to withstand the effects of torrential downpours, they are however extremely badly equipped for dealing with the unbearable heat.

Sykes Pumps help quarry avoid downtime over two-year period

A Sykes GP150 electric pump has reached a two-year milestone of continuous operation at a Cheshire quarry – further strengthening our claim as the UK’s most reliable supplier of pumping equipment. The unit was originally hired to assist a well-known building contractor and has functioned unremittingly without a single breakdown incident.

In 2014, we recommended the pump for a specialist stockpile dewatering application which required the removal of excess water from sand once dredged from a nearby lake. With maximum flow rates of up to 90 litres per second, our pump then discharged the water into a freshwater pond situated adjacent to the quarry.
