UK temperatures set for sharp rise as Andrews Air Conditioning release new infographic

Despite a slight temperature lull towards the back end of July, experts have predicted a return to the 30°C heat that swept the nation earlier this summer. Britain is now expected to compete with a Mediterranean climate after a somewhat unwanted period of stormy weather saw a month’s worth of rain fall in just 24 hours.

In light of these forecasted improvements, Andrews Air Conditioning have produced another interactive infographic displaying various obscure facts related to temperatures on these shores and beyond. To access it, simply click the image below.

Automotive parts manufacturer remains productive despite heatwave

When an internationally renowned engineering firm sought an auxiliary chiller unit to operate alongside smaller models already on site, they asked Andrews Chiller Hire to propose a temporary hire solution. Increased summer temperatures meant that their chiller unit was no longer effective and something had to be done immediately to limit any impact on production.

It was decided that rather than completely upgrade the chiller system that was in place at the factory, a more cost-efficient approach would be to hire an additional unit on a short-term basis.

Major beverage producer kept functional by Andrews Chillers

As with virtually any form of production, there are stringent control standards in place to protect consumers and ensure that goods are of the expected quality. This practice is particularly prevalent in the food and beverage industry, and this lead to an esteemed customer requiring hired air conditioning for a large storage facility when summer temperatures struck.

A lack of ventilation in the bottling area meant that a temporary solution was needed while a modern cooling system was installed on site. The size of the application meant that a 100kW chiller was more suitable than a series of smaller portable units, and this was delivered to the client’s premises less than 24 hours after receiving the enquiry.

Italian farmers take special measures to keep cattle cool

It’s a well-known fact that productivity in the workplace is affected by warm weather, with output apparently dropping to 85% on average when temperatures exceed 33°C. There appears to be a definitive correlation between a hot working environment and a reduction in efficiency, but you might be surprised to learn this link does not apply exclusively to humans!

Farmers in Italy have taken to installing air conditioning and fans in cowsheds and pigsties to keep livestock cool in sweltering summer heat. It has been reported that in the first half of July, cows in the region had produced approximately 50 million litres of milk less than usual because of the uncomfortable conditions.

Hotel hosting training courses kept cool during summer

With temperatures for much of June far warmer than they have been in previous years, there has been a prevalent need for more temporary cooling as our clients strive to keep staff and guests cool. And this was certainly true of a highly-regarded guesthouse located in south central England, with the entire premises booked by a major customer for a whole month.

Two large marquees stationed within the grounds were being used for training events, but without air conditioning these would quickly become too hot for people inside.
