With increased pressures placed on wildlife and birds over the years as a result of construction and building works taking place in their natural habitat, Sykes Pumps are proud to be part of a project that works to conserve wildlife.

The project, designed to preserve and construct wildlife areas, includes creating islands, new ponds, ditches, wet grassland and wild flower grasslands which will help to extend the vast range of plants and invertebrates in the wildlife.

During the construction project, Sykes Pumps provided pumping equipment to lower the water levels in the area to allow contractors to build islands and ponds. Our customer was delighted with our service and the quality of our equipment as the construction of the islands and ponds in such an ecologically sensitive area proved to be a success.

When a customer required flushing tests for a new heating system in a high rise building, they called Sykes Submersibles for the best solution. Sykes Pumps saves tunnel on Christmas Day

Deep beneath a small village lays a 3000 yard tunnel on the main line from Derbyshire to London. This tunnel, over recent years has become what can only be described as a subterranean river, as the water constantly drips from the walls and ceiling. Engineers began working on the tunnel but an emergency arose on Christmas day after a water pipe burst, causing hundreds of gallons of water to rapidly build up in the tunnel.
