R22 Change Out Programme

Andrews Specialist Hire Division were commissioned to supply three 550kW Fluid Chillers into the City of London whilst the existing units were being replaced due to the R22 change out programme. Andrews unique 550kW chiller was chosen to supply critical services due to its small footprint, which is exclusive to Andrews Sykes. The units were delivered and commissioned on a Sunday, which required a road closure and 200 tonne crane to lift the three Chiller Hire units 10 floors on to the roof. Andrews Sykes Helps to Shape the London Skyline

Andrews Sykes has contributed to the construction of Strata SE1, the new 43 storey residential tower which stands proudly in the heart of Elephant & Castle.

Martyn Day, one of our heater hire experts was challenged with delivering a heater hire solution that provided heating to over 30 floors of the Strata SE1 building in order to maintain a minimum ambient 5oC on each of the floors and maintain a consistent level of humidity and temperature control for their finishing trades.

Our heater hire solution included two super-efficient Aurora IMAC 4000 oil fired heaters and 10 ASF Cooling Fans together with the necessary ducting and pressure hoses. One heater was sited on each side of the building and ducted into the existing ventilation system at ground level. The high-powered centrifugal fans then circulated the warm air into each of the floors from the open dry risers.

Our Portable Heaters Keep Christine Bleakley Warm For Sport Relief

For avid viewers of the BBC’s The One Show, you’ll know that Christine Bleakley has never shied away from an active challenge and for Sport Relief this year she wanted to do something really tough.

Christine rose to the challenge by water-skiing across the English Channel! Just her and a couple of planks of wood took on one of the world’s busiest shipping channels – in icy winter conditions! Christine had never even been near a water ski before her training started in October.

In a recent episode, Christine was put through her paces by some of the greatest British athletes ever, 3 legendary world champions in fact; 4 time Olympic Champion Sir Matthew Pincent, Double Olympic gold medallist Dame Kelly Holmes and Heavyweight Boxing Champion of the World David Haye to get her super fit for the challenge.

Cold Customers Mean No Customers

Matthew Stapley, our Technical Service Manager started his day with a local drive to complete a site survey. The customer was an international brewery and distillery group requiring a chiller hire solution for the cooling of beer in the brewing stages.

It was a bitterly cold morning and the forecast was for snowfall at about 3pm, Matthew arrived on site, met the customer and they agreed a chiller rental solution for their problem. So, off he went on his way back with the thought of a snow blizzard on his mind.

Keeping Poorly Owls Out of the Cold

When Andrews Sykes were asked for their support to help save sick owls we were delighted to oblige!

The Suffolk Owl Sanctuary at Stonham Barns in Suffolk is a delightful place to visit. You can watch, study or simply enjoy the company of owls and other birds of prey. However, with only a few heated rooms available at the sanctuary to keep the birds warm, the owls are being kept in outdoor aviaries and in this weather the sick ones have been struggling.

The sanctuary was in urgent need of several industrial heaters to keep the aviaries warm. Not having the funds to hire heaters or buy portable heaters, the Andrews Sykes Group is delighted to be supporting a local charity and is donating the much needed electric heaters to the sanctuary.
