Bluewater Dewatering

Dewatering on a huge scale, Sykes was solely responsible for pumping for Bovis during the first months of the massive Bluewater project, draining four huge lakes at the bottom of 120ft cliffs with water up to 10m deep. This was an essential step in transforming the derelict quarry into Europe's biggest retail and leisure facility. Water was pumped off-site at 200 litres per second around the clock into the Thames 1.7km away. Sykes also guaranteed a 24/7 one-hour response to any problem that might have occured throughout the operation to ensure the deadline was met.

Building Site

Building and Construction sites are set to strict deadlines and with the amount of heavy weighted equipment and tools on site it is important that workers abide by health and safety rules to do their job efficiently. Sykes Pumps understands the serious attitudes needed and understand any problems on site must be dealt with rapidly and effectively to ensure deadlines are met. When a building site was suffering with an over flow from an existing sewer, recently, Sykes Pumps rapidly fixed the problem, being on site within the hour. Supplying three submersible pumps along with control panels a settlement tank, reducers and flowmeters, we were able to put in place a pumping system to deal with the over excess of the sewer water. We ensured they were then able to carry on with their job and reach their deadline effectively. Sykes pumps works cooperatively with our customers, ensuring their deadlines are met despite any problem they have.
