Sykes provide long-term pump hire solution for property construction plan
When a Kent quarry became the subject of a major new development project, the customer overseeing the scheme was confident that Sykes could assist them effectively. The site in question had planning permission for over 10,000 homes and almost 10 million square feet of commercial, retail and leisure space. Sykes have previously worked on similar projects nearby, including the Bluewater Shopping Center scheme. A number of Sykes UVO 200/150F (D90) diesel pumps were recommended by our [...]
Blueberry yield protected during summer heatwave
When a distinguished farm in eastern England required air conditioning to help keep produce cool during the height of summer, they approached us in search of a practical solution. As an existing client, they knew Andrews would be able to offer same-day delivery which was extremely important given how quickly high temperatures can affect perishable food. Our customer was looking to keep vast quantities of freshly-picked blueberries in a makeshift storage centre, but as construction had [...]
Andrews Ventilation provide fan cooling for retail store
During the warmer months of the year, Andrews are busy providing retail customers up and down the country with cooling solutions to suit their application. Among our client base is one of the UK’s leading health and beauty companies, who have stores nationwide. Each summer, they contact us seeking a suitable cooling fan rental arrangement for one of their flagship stores in north London. This type of unit is perfect for the environment as no moisture [...]
Emergency chiller hire keeps court proceedings on schedule
If your air conditioning system is deficient and incapable of keeping your premises cool, the first sign of summer heat can leave you panicking. And this situation can be particularly troublesome if an excessively warm environment threatens to halt normal daily routine – like in a court of law! So when an Essex magistrates’ began overheating in the middle of summer, it was imperative that steps were taken quickly to prevent criminal cases from being delayed. [...]
Andrews Air Conditioning cool healthcare facility kitchen
In a healthcare environment, where people are already unwell, it is absolutely imperative that patients’ food is stored correctly to prevent them suffering any further illness. Rising temperatures in Scotland had caused an Edinburgh hospital some difficulties in this regard, and so emergency cooling equipment was needed to ensure frozen goods remained safe for consumption. The holding area was beginning to overheat as a result of the hot air produced by an adjacent kitchen, so the [...]
Sewer works in Reading kept online by Andrews Chillers
When one of the country’s largest sewage plants suffered mechanical failure on their processing site, a swift reaction was vital to ensure an environmental health hazard was avoided. Circulation pumps – which push waste water through the works – had begun to falter, and this was attributed to the hot summer weather. If the sewage wasn’t treated properly it would cause an outflow into the river nearby and have the potential to cause far-reaching damage. An [...]
Sykes Pumps aid culvert repair in Lincolnshire
Following heavy rainfall in the north of England, a client contacted us seeking an emergency pump solution to facilitate the repair of a drainage tunnel that kept collapsing. Large volumes of storm water caused by torrential downpours were, therefore, unable to escape, meaning urgent action was required on our part. The customer had outsourced a renewal development to an external company, but in order for them to be in a position to mend the damaged culvert, [...]
Commercial television regulators kept cool during summer
Sometimes, even recently constructed modern buildings can find themselves unprepared for extreme weather when it arrives. This was exemplified during the summer of 2016, when one of the country’s broadcasting governing bodies sought an emergency cooling hire package from Andrews Air Conditioning. Our client’s Olympic Park base in Stratford was erected in 2012, but the chosen position of the building meant that occupants could suffer from seasonal heat due to its all-glass design. High outdoor temperatures [...]
Healthcare company seeks production line cooling
Pharmaceutical applications are often reliant on constantly low temperatures being maintained, either for manufacturing or storing tablets and capsules. At Andrews Chillers, we understand that excessive warmth will directly affect the condition of whatever it is that is being produced or stored. So when one of the world’s leading healthcare organisations encountered chiller breakdown at its Leicestershire headquarters, a replacement hire was sought straightaway. Unless a temporary solution could be sourced quickly, output would have fallen [...]
Consultancy firm requires emergency air conditioning
Over long periods of time, a chiller system can lose efficiency and become ineffective – dramatically increasing the chances of it breaking down completely. This was precisely the scenario a national consultancy company was faced with after their unit failed during a particularly busy interval for the business. Failure to address the issue immediately could have had severe repercussions for their medium-term output, as various parts of their London headquarters would have been left without air [...]
