On the 4th July 2011 it became a criminal offence for anyone to install, remove or handle refrigerant gases, such as those used in air conditioning equipment, unless they hold the latest F-Gas Safe Handling qualifications. Any company offering these services must hold a valid Company Qualification Certificate from an independent accreditation body such as REFCOM.
REFCOM estimates that over half the air conditioning and refrigeration companies in the UK have not yet satisfied these statutory requirements.
Commenting on this achievement, Andy Whiteley, Divisional Director of Andrews Air Conditioning says, ‘It’s a time consuming and costly process to ensure all our Engineers meet these strict standards but it’s vital to uphold the standards of work quality and environmental protection which these regulations require.

As the excitement builds to the hugely anticipated fight this coming Saturday, David Haye left his UK training base on Sunday to travel to Germany and finalise his preparations for the biggest fight of his life. Andrews are proud to have contributed to the build up by supplying the climate control equipment that kept the training conditions perfect at his gym, which is in a secret location in England.
David’s manager, Adam Booth, said “The details are all important when preparing for something this important. Not having to worry about the temperature and humidity of the the gym in a country renowned for unreliable weather conditions was a major help to us. I’m not surprised that Andrews are number 1 at what they do.
” Every boxing fan in the country will be cheering David on when the first bell goes on Saturday but you can be sure there will be some extra cheering coming from all the employees of Andrews Sykes.

When the organisers of one of the worlds premier boat shows wanted to introduce a competitive element for visitors they turned to Andrews ventilation to supply 22 of our high powered ASF950 fans. They were required to produce a steady wind direction and flow for two special regattas on a manmade lake within the exhibition center.
Over the two days thousands of visitors enjoyed the competitive radio controlled yacht racing. Due to its success event organizers are hoping to make the racing an annual feature of the show.
