Guinness, Strongbow and Fosters along with 80 different ales and beer needed to remain at a cool temperature throughout the festival. Andrews Sykes proposed the solution of installing a PAC60 unit together with an ASF50 fan at the beer festival to create the perfect temperature for the finest pint.

Air Conditioning in Winter?

Wednesday, October 26th, 2011

It’s a fact that in addition to creating a cool, comfortable summer environment, most modern air conditioning systems can provide clean, cost-effective winter heating too. It’s also a fact that many users aren’t aware of the many benefits of this ‘heat pump technology’.

The latest air conditioning systems are able to work ‘in reverse’, extracting free energy from the external environment to provide comfortable heating even in the depths of winter. They are extremely energy-efficient, with low running costs and a high degree of control.

‘’As winter approaches many of our customers know it’s a great time to get air conditioning installed’’, says Andy Whiteley, Divisional Director of Andrews Air Conditioning Services. ‘’They get a cooling system ready for next summer plus a heating system built-in’’.

To find out how your summer cooling could also provide your winter heating call Andrews Air Conditioning Services.

Sykes Pumps Save The Day

Monday, October 17th, 2011

A huge water pipe burst brought commuters to a halt recently as piles of debris heaped on a city centre road and people were trapped in cars in floodwater.

White Abbey road in Bradford, where the incident took place, was described as a surreal scene as water gushed down the road turning it into a running river several feet deep.

Sykes were called to site and, arriving within the hour, quickly assembled a diesel pumpset to displace the excess nuisance water. Using one GP80 pumpset together with wire armoured hose, fifty meters of layflat and a drip tray provided an effective solution which was easily operated and effortlessly manoeuvred around the site.

The water was soon controlled and the water pipe fixed. This is a true testament to Sykes Pumps readiness for unforeseen emergencies which we are always prepared for and happy to help with.
